In the process of writing that article, I collected data on trends in grading from about 30 colleges and universities. I found that grade inflation, while waning beginning in the mid 1970s, resurfaced in the mid 1980s. The rise continued unabated at almost every school for which data were available. By March 2003, I had collected data on grades from over 80 schools. Then I stopped collecting data until December 2008, when I thought it was a good time for a new assessment. At that time, I started working with Chris Healy from Furman University. We collected data from over 170 schools, updated this website, wrote a research paper, collected more data the following year and wrote another research paper. In late 2015, at the request of more than a few people, I decided to work with Chris Healy on another update. Chris has done the lions share of data collection. We now have data on average grades from over 400 schools with a combined enrollment of over four million undergraduates. I want to thank those who have helped us by either sending data or telling us where we can find data.

I rarely come across artists like that, they are as different from one another as anyone. I really do believe there is an energy within art, colors, and it is that energy about a piece of art that people resonate to. or not. Some only like only my precise artwork, of which I feel are renderings and not in my personal opinion, true art. It tells me that we are not connected in a spiritual sense. We connect on other levels though so consequences of that kind of thinking are not something that needs to be brooded over, on the outside chance you find my opinion offensive or objectionable.

Many students worry about gaining weight during their first year of collegethe so called freshman 15. But an unexpectedly large number of students may be unable to afford nutritious food, putting their physical health, mental well being, and academic performance at risk. While research on the extent of this problem among college students is limited, a new study published Jan. 9 in the Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior found that 59 percent of students at a midsize university in Oregon were food insecure at some point during the previous year. That means they had limited or uncertain access to nutritious and safe foods. In contrast, a 2012 study by the U. S. Department of Agriculture found that 14. 5 percent of households in the country were food insecure. Based on other research thats been done, we expected some amount of food concerns among college students, said study author Daniel Lpez Cevallos, an associate director of research at Oregon State University, in a press release. But it was shocking to find food insecurity of this severity. Several recent trends may be combining to cause this. Among these trends are rising college tuition costs and a high cost of living, which has forced some students to make difficult choices between paying for classes and rent or eating healthy. In addition, more first generation and low income students are now attending college. These students may not have the family support they need to keep nutritious food on the table when their budget is stretched thin.
